Don’t worry, be hippie!

Fashion is a form of one’s creativity, an art of expression, and a reflection of what one wants to portray in the society. Fashion is everywhere. It is present in every country, in every race, in every culture. Simply put, it is evident in every individual… or at least it should be.

I have always been impressed by fashionistas all over the world who are fearless when it comes to showcasing their individuality.

And most often, what better way to do that than to go Bohemian, right?

Proven and tested by the queens of Bohemian fashion, Nicole Richie, Mischa Barton and Mary Kate Olsen just can’t get enough of this ethnic, vintage and hippie style all rolled into one. Its carefree vibe is one of the most favorite styles that the paparazzi go gaga for in Hollywood, from runway to the red carpet.

I, for one, am a big fan of this style. I adore how these amazing artists of Bohemian fashion can put together colors, prints and accessories without looking sloppy or over the top (which is what I usually try to avoid). They are not afraid to be different because they value originality, which, for me, is one kick-ass attitude towards being fashion forward.

I am not exactly fashion savvy when it comes to Bohemian 101, but I always put into consideration 3 things:

Color

The style usually caters for the neutral and warm palette, and the earthly hues have this ethnic appeal. Shades of cream, brown and gray work for me. It looks light and carefree, which is what you’d probably want to aim for when trying to achieve Bohemian look.

Fabric

A Boho look is also about movement, which explains why flared skirts and dresses are two of the most popular signatures of this style. Garments are worn loose and flowy, sometimes even baggy. That’s one more thing to love about Bohemian fashion, I suppose. You don’t have to compromise comfort for style!

Accessories

Wooden bangles, beaded necklaces, colorful bags- there is literally an ocean of accessories to experiment with. Be creative, add color, and pay attention to details.
